Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić, in an interview for the Gazzetta Awards, spoke about his first months in his new adventure with Milan, describing the experience as exceptionally positive.
“I feel good; I enjoy what I do. I’m physically and mentally well, I’m having fun, and everything is going very well. I hope to continue like this,” the Croatian ace stated.
Asked about his adaptation to Serie A, Modrić was sincere about the emotions of this new chapter.
“I’m doing a good job with Milan, one of my favorite clubs. As a child, I dreamed of playing for this great team. Italian football is different from Spanish football, but it is extremely competitive. Many outside Italy don’t understand how difficult this league is — for me it was no surprise, because I’ve always followed it,” he emphasized.
Modrić also spoke about his relationship with coach Massimiliano Allegri, who took charge of the Rossoneri this season.
“He is a great coach and a winner. He surprised me with his personality. I enjoy working with him because he knows how to manage big players.”
The Croatian didn’t forget to comment on the World Cup play-off matches, where Italy aims to avoid another dramatic elimination.
“It would be a tragedy to miss a World Cup for the third time in a row, but I hope Italy qualifies. The World Cup should always have the best teams,” Modrić declared.
