The future of Robert Lewandowski at FC Barcelona has become a major topic of speculation, as his contract expires at the end of the season.
The veteran striker is reportedly open to extending his stay at the club for another year. However, the Blaugrana have shown hesitation on the matter and are not willing to rush into any decision, despite a recent meeting between his agent and Joan Laporta. Amid the ongoing speculation, it has now emerged that MLS club Inter Miami may be considering a move for Lewandowski next year.
According to former footballer Marek Jozwiak, speaking on the program Moca Futbolu, the American club where former Barcelona captain Lionel Messi also plays could be interested in Lewandowski and is even said to have begun searching for accommodation for the Polish striker.
“I received a message from someone who knows this matter very well, stating that Inter Miami is already looking for housing for Robert Lewandowski,” Jozwiak said.
Inter Miami has benefited greatly from its strategy of signing experienced players from Europe, such as Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets, and Lewandowski would fit well into this approach.
However, the 37-year-old captain of Poland remains determined to stay at Barcelona and would even be willing to accept a pay cut to continue.
But if the Blaugrana decide not to offer him a contract renewal, it will be interesting to see whether Lewandowski chooses a move to MLS and a reunion with Messi in Miami.
