Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that the Catalan club are still searching for a new striker before the summer transfer window closes.
According to Spanish newspaper SPORT, the German coach expressed complete confidence in sporting director Deco and the work he is doing in the transfer market, while admitting that the squad still needs reinforcements in attack.
“I have complete confidence in Deco. We have to do something,” Flick said, making it clear that signing a striker remains the club’s top priority.
The Barcelona manager also suggested that the club’s transfer activity could depend on the future of Ferran Torres, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Camp Nou.
However, Flick stressed that Barcelona have several attacking alternatives. He highlighted the possibility of Lamine Yamal playing as a false nine, while Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi are capable of operating both through the middle and on either wing.
As the transfer deadline approaches, Barcelona’s main objective remains the signing of a forward who can provide greater depth and more attacking options for the squad.
