Erling Haaland has once again become a major target for the Spanish giants, with Barcelona and Real Madrid closely monitoring the Norwegian striker’s situation at Manchester City.
According to reports published in England, both clubs are keeping a close eye on developments at the Etihad Stadium as they await the final decision in the financial case involving Manchester City.
A severe sporting sanction against City could significantly change the situation surrounding several of the club’s star players. However, Haaland is not currently for sale, and there is no indication that Manchester City are planning to part ways with him.
The 26-year-old striker is under contract with the English club until the summer of 2034, after signing a new 10-year deal in January 2025.
For this reason, even in an extreme scenario such as Manchester City being relegated from the Premier League as a result of a potential punishment, Haaland would not automatically become a free agent.

According to recent reports in England, the independent commission examining the case has reportedly found 114 of the 115 financial breaches alleged against the club to have been proven.
