Hansi Flick is not convinced that the Inter Milan defender is the ideal choice for his team, both tactically and financially.
This decision reportedly surprised sporting director Deco, who has been working for months to bring Bastoni to the Blaugrana club despite resistance from Oaktree Capital Management over the transfer fee. Inter are said to be demanding €60 million plus bonuses, while Barça’s offer stands at €50 million.
According to Sport, FC Barcelona will make a final decision by the end of the month, but in the meantime they are already working on alternatives such as Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur.
