Following the matches played on Wednesday and in the early hours of Thursday, Lionel Messi remains at the top of the 2026 FIFA World Cup scoring chart with five goals.
Brazilian star Vinicius Junior moved closer to the top after scoring a brace in Brazil’s victory over Scotland, taking his tally to four goals.
Also on four goals are Norway’s Erling Haaland and France’s Kylian Mbappé. However, Vinicius is the only player among this group who has already completed all three group-stage matches.
Meanwhile, Freiburg youngster Johan Manzambi continues to impress with Switzerland. He scored the winning goal against Canada, a victory that secured the Swiss side first place in Group B.
Making his first start for the national team, Manzambi also provided an assist for Ruben Vargas on the opening goal of the match. Morocco’s Ismael Saibari has also reached three goals after finding the net against Haiti.
