Major League Soccer has announced the names of the 10 highest-paid players in the league for 2026, and the list comes with very few surprises.
Three-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi is the highest-paid player in MLS for 2026, earning a salary of $28.3 million.

Following the Argentine superstar is Son Heung-min with a salary of $11.2 million, while the podium is completed by Rodrigo De Paul, who earns $9.7 million.
Hirving Lozano ranks among the highest-paid players in Major League Soccer for 2026 with $9.3 million in fourth place, while Miguel Almiron follows closely behind with $7.9 million per season.
Emil Forsberg earns $6 million per year, while Sam Surridge receives $5.9 million during the 2026 season.
The list of highly paid stars also includes Riqui Puig with $5.8 million, Jonathan Bamba with $5.6 million, and Hany Mukhtar, who rounds out the top 10 with $5.4 million per season.
