Turkish giants Besiktas have made an ambitious move to sign former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, officially submitting a lucrative initial contract offer for the Egyptian star.
The Liverpool legend is a free agent after leaving the Anfield club at the end of last season, while Liverpool’s new manager, Andoni Iraola, is looking for a replacement.
Following his departure from the Merseyside club, the 34-year-old winger has become one of the most sought-after names on the free-agent market, prompting Besiktas to act quickly in an attempt to secure a major signing.
Negotiations have already moved beyond the initial stages. During the first meeting, Salah’s representatives reportedly requested a net annual salary of €15 million.
Although that figure initially exceeded Besiktas’ financial capabilities, subsequent discussions have reportedly led to a major breakthrough.
